P.J. Harvey Plans A Return To The States
Making her way from East to West, the abrasive-yet-alluring Polly Jean kicks things off at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on the 4th and ends up at the Hollywood Palladium on the 21st.
Harvey’s had quite a full touring plate this year. She began with extensive tours of Australia and Europe and quickly launched into her support slot for U2‘s North American tour.
When the Irish band’s Elevation outing ended, she crossed the Atlantic again for a summer of European festival gigs. Now, she’s headed Stateside once more to satisfy Harvey-hungry fans.
The last time she toured so heavily was in 1995 when she released her album To Bring You My Love. The record was praised by fans and critics alike, and spawned a full-scale North American tour.
Harvey’s latest album, Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea, was released last year and marked a return to her earlier, more aggressive style, rife with introspection, power chords and distortion.
