Stevie Nicks’ Tour Gels
After some early scheduling hiccups, the tour is set to kick off July 6 in Burgettstown – just outside Pittsburgh – and run through the summer.
Along with material for the new album, Nicks is expected to deliver plenty of hits from throughout her solo career, like “Gold Dust Woman,” “Rhiannon,” “Landslide,” “Stand Back” and “Edge of Seventeen.”
One of the most recognizable voices to arise from the ‘70s California rock scene, Nicks rose to fame with Fleetwood Mac and enjoyed major success as a solo artist in the ‘80s. Interest in the singer was rekindled when Fleetwood Mac reunited for an album and tour in 1997. She followed that sold-out 43-date outing with a solo tour in 1998.
Plans for a new Fleetwood Mac album are on hold because the band has been unable to lure singer/pianist Christine McVie out of retirement in England. However, Nicks has been quoted saying Mac will record a new album at the conclusion of her tour.
