The Other Country Chicks
Chely Wright, Deana Carter, and Mindy McCready have separate tours traversing North America, so there’s no excuse for not catching at least one of them.
The most extensive of the three outings will be turned in by Wright, who just added a substantial number of dates to her schedule, which so far runs through September 12.
She’s mostly hitting the fair circuit, though several theatre and casino dates are thrown in for good measure. Wright released her breakout album, Single White Female, in 1999.
Deana Carter is going to be a little harder to catch. She’s put together a two-week tour of mainly clubs and casinos, including stops in New Orleans, Houston, Atlanta and Cleveland. She got the country world’s attention with her 1995 debut, Did I Shave My Legs For This?
Her second album, Everything’s Gonna Be Alright, came out in 1998 and she’s expected to release a third album later this year.
Mindy McCready is still supporting her third album, 1999’s I’m Not So Tough. The Florida-born singer came within days of missing her self-imposed one year deadline for inking a record deal, 51 weeks after making her move to Nashville.
Her first album, Ten Thousand Angels, landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s new artist chart, boosting her rising star status.
