Toadies On The Road
The band has been away from the tour circuit for awhile but fans haven’t forgotten the group that gave them the platinum 1994 album Rubberneck and a chart-topping hit with “Possum Kingdom.” That song has a heck of a long shelf-life. It’s been one of the top recurrent tracks on alternative, active, and mainstream rock radio for the six years it took to deliver the new record.
The Toadies got a lot of mileage out of Rubberneck, opening for acts such as Bush, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the Butthole Surfers.
They continued touring into 1997, but dropped off the radar except for occasional one-off gigs – until now.
After a warmup tour of Texas, the Toadies will kick off their headlining caravan in earnest April 18 in Tempe, Ariz.
So far, they’ve lined up 23 cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, with more dates likely to come.
