Marilyn Manson Tour Expands Westward
The band’s schedule has grown considerably since the first gigs were announced in September. The current tour leg runs through December 16, touching down in the South, East Coast, Canada, the Great Lakes region and the Midwest. It’s not known if the January 13 date marks the start of the West Coast tour or if it will begin earlier.
Marilyn Manson’s European tour starts January 21, giving the group just enough time to cover the western states and get the show shipped across the Pond.
So far, the tour hasn’t spawned the kind of controversy or civic outrage seen during the band’s earlier road trips, even though Manson has made no attempt to appease his critics.
The five-man band’s latest album, Holy Wood, is due November 14. The ghostly (some might say ghastly) singer describes the record as “… specifically designed for use while being beaten upon or inspiring you to beat upon someone. I’m not saying you should do that,” he added. “I wanted to beat myself to death after listening to the entire record. If you don’t want to hurt anybody after listening to the entire record, I think you can take it back for a refund.”
