Pantera Readies Headline Tour
The monthlong outing launches November 7 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi and makes stops in Orlando, Pittsburgh, New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City and Dallas.
Pantera is out in support of their latest metal offering, Reinventing The Steel. It’s the band’s first record in three years since the live album Official Live: 101 Proof and the first studio album in four years since The Great Southern Trendkill was released.
Frontman Philip Anselmo and his bandmates have cultivated a devoted following on the strength of their live show and six albums that have received very little radio or MTV airplay.
They’ve been through several rock incarnations as they played with different musical styles in the early stages of their careers, and all four band members have various side projects when they’re not ripping up the road as Pantera.
Perhaps surprisingly, Vinnie Paul, “Dimebag” Abbott, and Rex Brown all play with Texas country icon David Allen Coe during their off time. But considering the common musical outlaw Texan heritage they share, maybe that’s no surprise at all.
