Black Rob Jailed Without Bail
Rapper Black Rob is being held in a New York jail without bail after turning himself in June 13 to face a weapons charge after skipping out on a May 26 court date.
The charge – third degree felony possession of a weapon – stems from his arrest May 21 when he reportedly stopped his car in Manhattan to sign autographs. According to the New York Daily News, he was spotted passing a .22-caliber Derringer to a passenger in his car by undercover police.
Rob (real name, Robert Ross) was on parole from a prior conviction at the time of the arrest.
Rob was released on $10,000 bond and ordered to appear back in court May 26. When he failed to appear, a bench warrant was issued. His next court date is set for August 29.
The Bad Boy Entertainment artist’s most recent release, Life Story, debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top 200 in March.
