Adelaide To Lose Soundwave?
AJ Maddah, fiery Sydney-based promoter of the traveling Soundwave and Big Day Out festivals, already pulled the festivals out of Western Australia citing red tape with councils. Now Adelaide could be off Soundwave’s 2015 schedule.
The hard rock festival forfeited a A$10,000 ($9,286) bond when its March 1 show in Bonython Park exceeded the 110-decibel limit for 70 percent of the 11-hour show.
Council received six complaints.
Councillor David Plumridge said live shows should be moved out of Bonython Park or the bond increased to A$40,000 ($37,145).
Maddah’s pithy response to these eventualities: “Adios Adelaide!”
