Greens Announce Workshop And Conference

Green Events Europe has announced its next workshop will be in Vienna, Austria, April 7-8, while its annual conference will be in Bonn, Germany, Nov. 3-4.

The two-day workshop in the Austrian capital is at the Umweltbundesamt (Federal Environmental Agency) and will deal with sustainable festivals and events and focus on the difficulties in getting the audience involved.

The talkers will include Austrian promoters Harry Jenner of Musicnet, which produces FM Frequency Festival, and Ruth Riehl from Beatpatrol Festival.

Other panelists include Holger Jan Schmidt from GreenEvents Europe, Teresa Moore from the UK’s Bucks New University, and Josef Hackl and Felix Heckl from the Federal Environmental Agency.

The 2013 conference, which was also at the Wissenschaftszentrum in Bonn, saw the number of delegates rise 30 percent to 160.

The speakers included Claire O’Neill from the UK’s A Greener Festival, Stepan Suchochleb from the Czech Republic’s Rock for People Festival, event operational consultant Carl AH Martin, and Roman Dashuber from Germany’s Green Music Initiative.
