Good Ideas For PrimaveraPro

Anyone with a good and original idea for the music industry could make a bit of money at this year’s PrimaveraPro.

The annual conference in Barcelona is offering euro 1,000 to the creator of the best idea, which will be judged by Silvia Bueso, an expert on elevator pitches and crowd-funding.

It’s hard to say if the competition is really about good ideas or crowd-funding as all the ideas will first have to launch a crowd-funding campaign in a bid to raise euro 500.

Whoever comes second will get euro 500, but PrimaveraPro is looking to further bolster the prizes.

Last year PrimaveraPro, Spain’s contribution to the European conference circuit, saw delegate numbers rise 42.5 percent to 1,995 – 60 percent from outside Spain.

This year’s PrimaveraPro is May 28 to June 1.

The Primavera Sound festival that runs in parallel to the conference in the nearby Parc del Forum has Pixies, Laurent Garnier, Nine Inch Nails, Mogwai, The National, Dr. John and the Nite Trippers, and SBTRKT. BBK Live, another of the country’s major festivals and staged on the slopes of Mount Cobetas in Bilbao, has named a July 10-12 lineup with The Prodigy, The Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, Phoenix, MGMT, Imagine Dragons, White Lies, Foster The People, and The Lumineers.
