Odds & Ends: Ke$ha, Insane Clown Posse, First City Festival
Juggalos and Juggalettes, mark your calendar for Aug. 6-9. Insane Clown Posse will celebrate its 15th Gathering of the Juggalos at a new home, relocating from Cave-in-Rock, Ill., to Harlequin Park in Kaiser, Mo.
The crazy clowns and their followers will get a fresh start following a 2013 fest that was marred by several vendors reporting they had received bad checks in addition to a fan death.
Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope are pretty pumped about the new location. The clowns posted a statement exclaiming, “Juggalos, this place is the SHIT! I’m serious. It’s got the same level of intimacy that we enjoyed at Hog Rock for all those years but this campground also has plenty of flavor that Hog Rock didn’t have, including CELL PHONE RECEPTION! NEARBY HOTELS! NEARBY STORES! ACTUAL F**KING CIVILIZATION!”
“I mean, this is the 15th f**king Gathering! 15 years of Juggalo family flavor! Can you f**king believe it?! So that’s why we want this Gathering to truly be something special. We wanna change it up a bit – but not too much – while still keeping the event in a nice, central location.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 7 at 9 p.m. EST. The lineup is yet to be announced. For more information visit JuggalosGathering.com.
Ke$ha says she needs more time off the road to focus on her health. The pop star has postponed a handful of March and April U.S. dates that included a stop in Hammond, Ind., at The Venue at Horseshoe Casino as well as the Kress Events Center in Green Bay, Wis.
Ticketholders are advised to contact their local box office for refunds.
“I was so looking forward to performing at these dates but I need to follow my doctor’s advice and get my health back on trek,” Ke$ha said. “All of your support during this time has been so amazing. I couldn’t have done this without you all. I look forward to coming back stronger than ever on the next tour.”
Last week she canceled a Feb. 13 performance in Dubai at Redfest DXB, also citing doctor’s orders. Jessie J is filling in for Ke$ha in Dubai.
Ke$ha announced in January that she was checking into rehab for an undisclosed eating disorder, explaining that she wants to “learn to love myself again, exactly as I am.”
