Where You’ll Find The Milk Carton Kids

The folk duo of Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan has booked three months of roadwork in the U.S.A. and Canada.  Beginning in North Carolina in April, the The Milk Carton Kids’ spring journey includes St. Louis, Memphis, Boston, Denver and San Francisco among its destinations.

It’s a great time for The Milk Carton Kids.  Last week the group received a best folk album Grammy nom for their Anti-Records release The Ash & Clay.  Along with the nomination the group is featured in a new Showtime special entitled “Another Day, Another Time.” The program documents a benefit concert held in September to celebrate the music of the new Coen Brothers’ film, “Inside Llewyn Davis,” which is set in New York City’s Greenwich Village during the 1960s folk music movement.  Produced by “Inside Llewyn Davis” soundtrack producer T Bone Burnett and the Coens, the concert also included performances by The Avett Brothers, Joan Baez, Marcus Mumford, Punch Brothers, Patti Smith, Jack White and others.  “Another Day, Another Time” debuts on Showtime tonight (Dec. 13) at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Now Messrs. Pattengale and Ryan are looking at a very busy touring schedule in support of The Ash & Clay.  Although the group has a few dates in Europe and North America scattered across 2014’s January-March expanse, the heavy duty one-city-after-another touring doesn’t kick in until mid-April and keeps on going through late June.  The tour follows The Milk Carton Kids’ two-night stand at the Hayti Heritage Center in Durham, N.C., where they will perform with Joe Henry and Over The Rhine April 11-12.  Here’s the rundown:
