POLLSTAR Live! Keynotes

Two keynote speakers – Michael Cohl and Malcolm Gladwell – are among the first highlights unveiled for the February 19-21 Pollstar Live! 2014 conference.

Gladwell, one of the world’s most creative free-thinkers, will speak on “David & Goliath In The Concert Business.”

Gladwell has had a string of best-selling business books including “The Tipping Point,” “Blink,” “Outliers” and his current book based on the story of David & Goliath.

Big versus little is something professionals in the concert business deal with every day.

Gladwell points out that the nimble little indie can not only survive, but prosper in a land dominated by powerful but slow-moving giants.

S2BN founder and impresario Michael Cohl will also present a keynote that covers his decades of experience as the dominant concert promoter in Canada, the worldwide producer of numerous mega-tours by The Rolling Stones, U2, Michael Jackson and other major acts, a senior leadership position at Live Nation and, most recently, his eye-opening experiences on Broadway with the musical “Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark.”

Nashville has really embraced the move of Pollstar Live! to Music City.

We expect to register more than 1,000 people and the host Omni Hotel could be sold out before the end of the year.

Please remember to vote for the Pollstar Concert Industry Awards by Friday, Dec. 20. Your vote can make a huge difference.

Every year one or two categories seem to be decided by just a handful of votes.

The winners will be announced Feb. 21 at the Ryman Auditorium.
