Changes: Sinead O’Connor, James Blake, Billy Joel
Sinead O’Connor won’t be playing Los Angeles this Sunday. Nor will she appear in Solana Beach, Calif., Tuesday evening or San Francisco a week from this Saturday. The singer has canceled or postponed the remaining dates on her North American tour.
Individual venues scheduled to host O’Connor are saying the Irish lass is suffering an acute case of laryngitis and that her doctor has prescribed six weeks of rest. In addition to the dates listed above, her Dec. 2-3 gigs in Oakville, Ontario, are also off the schedule.
Ticketholders should visit the venue’s website for refund information.
Billy Joel has added yet another show for New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Joel is now scheduled to play four gigs at MSG with the most recently added concert set for April 18.
Joel’s schedule is beginning to look like a real tour. At this time he has one show in Brooklyn, four concerts at The Garden and four shows spread out over three Floridian towns.
Here’s the schedule:

Jan. 7 – Sunrise, Fla., BB&T Center

The continuing saga of James Blake announcing U.S. shows only to postpone or cancel the gigs continues.
Blake was supposed to go out on a short run beginning at the end of October in Texas. But he rescheduled four shows for March 2014 so that he could attend the Mercury Awards in London.
The change was a smart move for Blake. The British musician won the eclectic award.
Now he has canceled his March concerts. Cities not receiving a visit from Mr. Blake are Nashville (March 20), Houston (March 23), Austin (March 24) and Dallas (March 25).
A note on his Facebook page says “a number of events have conspired” to make playing the shows impossible. Refund information to be announced.
