NSW Introduces Scalping Bill
A bill to stop ticket scalpers in New South Wales was introduced in Australian Parliament Nov. 14 by Minister of Fair Trading Anthony Roberts.

Resales can not be over 10 percent of original price, and event organisers get the power to cancel tickets.
After a spate of online transactions where consumers paid for nonexistent tickets, ads for resold tickets must include a photo displaying ticket number, row and seat number.
But online ticket marketplace viagogo doubts the bill would deter scalpers.
“When you make things more difficult, people choose the easiest route. In this case, that’s a return to selling tickets on the black market in pubs, car parks and outside venues,” the firm’s Alex Levenson told the Sydney Daily Telegraph. “That would be a step backward, not a step forward,”
