Rolling Stones Chatter
Coming from London’s The Sun via NME, Wood is reported to be talking about a possible 2014 outing, saying his Rolling Stone cohorts loved the reception fans gave them on their 50th anniversary shows.
“While the big wheel is rolling we are going to capture it before it stops totally,” Wood said.
NME also reported that a Rolling Stones rep said there were “No firm plans yet.” Of course, the rep didn’t say “No” either, so anything is possible. Already there are multiple media reports that The Stones will play Australia in 2014. That claim has neither been confirmed or denied.
On this side of the pond a Fairfield, Conn., man was charged with 112 counts of illegal possession of explosives, reckless endangerment and manufacture of bombs, reports The Associated Press.
Joseph Callahan is the alleged bomb maker. The 69-year-old man had originally called the police saying he thought someone had burglarized his home and made off with his prescription pills and a check. After seeing a rifle case on his living room floor, police eventually discovered 142 guns, all registered to Callahan.
Callahan also reportedly told police that he was making a bomb for Keith Richards. The Rolling Stones guitarist lives in Weston, Conn., approximately 35 miles from Fairfield.
Apparently Callahan told police that working with explosives is his hobby. He also claimed to have the same kind of materials used in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and the 1995 bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City.
Callahan is currently free on bond and will be arraigned Oct. 16 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
“He is a delightful gentleman who never had any intention to make a bomb and never intended to hurt anybody,” attorney Richard Meehan said of his client.
