Thundercat’s ‘Apocalypse’ Tour
Thundercat put out his second studio album, Apocalypse, in July on Brainfeeder Records. Co-produced by Flying Lotus, the LP features a blend of “pop, soul, electronica, prog rock and funk.”
NPR praises the bassist for knowing “how to write genuinely affecting and technically bad-ass songs around his instrument – a rare art, usually given to some serious ‘bass face.’ But with Apocalypse, Thundercat has made an emotionally complex record, while still finding time to party.”
Check out the Apocalypse track “Lotus and the Jondy” below.
And take a listen to the new tune “Bowzer’s Ballad,” which Thundercat recently put out to honor Hiroshi Yamauchi, the late head of Nintendo. The track is available as a free download.
“What a great person, and great loss,” Thundercat said. “Thank you for helping to fuel so many dreams. You will be missed. Sleep in peace … and don’t come back as a zombie!”
