Bodyguard Death Follows Strange Attack

A bodyguard who worked security for superstars including Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Jay Z was killed following an altercation with police and a strange incident in his suburban Miami neighborhood.

Norman Oosterbroek reportedly began beating up a neighbor – in the nude – while consuming drugs, before police Tasered him, authorities told the Miami Herald.

He later died at a nearby hospital.

Police said Oosterbroek appeared at his neighbor’s home at about 10:45 that evening and began beating the man after he confronted him.

“He was highly violent, uncontrollable and obviously wasn’t stable,” a spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade police told the paper.

She added a white powdery substance was found on Oosterbroek’s body.

Toxicology results are pending.

Oosterbroek served as a bodyguard for Nelson Mandela early in his career and later formed the security firm RAD, which has offices in the Netherlands and New York City.
