The project is a joint venture with the Shaanxi Qinhuang Grand Theatre Performing Arts Company, which will perform “The Legend of Emperor Qin,” a 70-minute, high-tech music and dance show to launch next spring.

The production tells the story of Qin Shi Huang, China’s first emperor, who commissioned the thousands of life-sized, terra cotta figures still being unearthed today to protect him in the afterlife.

The exhibit attracts thousands of visitors every year. This is just the latest NWE joint venture in China.

The company previously brought “42nd Street,” “Aida” and “Fame” to the country as well as bringing the first Chinese show, “Soul of Shaolin,” to Broadway in 2009.
