LivingSocial To Launch
In NZ

Deal-of-the-day website LivingSocial is planning to launch in New Zealand this year after selling more than 1 million concert tickets over four months in Australia.

“We expect to be up and running in New Zealand by October,”

Sydney-based head of entertainment and live events Patrick Smith told Pollstar.

Smith, one-time head of business development at Auckland’s 60,000-capacity , is negotiating with major promoters and venues, as well as record labels to include music as bundles.

LivingSocial offers ticket packages including artist-meets, accommodation and dining, and merchandise.

Since launching in Sydney and Melbourne in April, the site is moving into other Australian cities.

Smith reveals the site has 2.44 million subscribers across Australia and New Zealand.

“They are very socially active and share their experiences with their friends. Our age demographics are 24-54, who earn in excess of $100,000 (US$91,750) per annum.

“They are cash rich, but time poor and eager for something cool to do in their city on a regular basis,” Smith added,
