U.S. Speakers Going Global
A number of U.S. live music executives will speak at New Zealand’s Going Global Music Summit in the southern spring.
Speakers include Billy Jones, talent buyer at Pianos Bar NYC; Ayisha Jaffer of artist management PunkDeFunk; Mike Bell, director of International Relations at FILTER Creative Group; and Panache Booking owner/agent Michelle Cable.
Other international speakers include Mark Wilson, head of A&R at Warner Music Australia and Grimur Atlason, festival director of Iceland’s Iceland Airwaves.
Organised by Independent Music New Zealand, the Summit is in Wellington Sept. 5, Auckland Sept. 7 and Christchurch Sept. 9. It focuses on new independent music with panels, presentations, workshops and discussions that encourage an exchange of global ideas and trends. There will also be showcases of New Zealand acts throughout.
