AEG Ogden Opening Oman
The company’s group director, Geoff Donaghy, said a global search is now under way to “ensure the best possible candidate” is selected for the position, according to International Meetings Review.
“This is a unique opportunity to oversee a pre-opening team in a greenfield destination,” he said. “The Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre offers travelers both the experience and opportunity to work with a number of internationally credentialed professionals.”
Muscat will be the company’s seventh convention and exhibition centre in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific region.
Carillion Alawi has already been appointed as the contractor to build the exhibition halls (22,000 square meters), the three-story parking lot and the energy centre.
The entire project is being built in two phases with the exhibition halls finished in 2015 and the auditorium, banquent halls and meeting rooms to be completed in late 2016.
