Yellowcard Revisits ‘Ocean Avenue’

And that’s not all. Yellowcard is also releasing an acoustic version of Ocean Avenue Aug. 13 on Hopeless Records.

“Over the last few months we have been re-imagining all 13 songs in an acoustic setting,” the band said in a statement on its website. “The release will be called simply, Ocean Avenue Acoustic. Some of the songs have a whole new life, while others are acoustic renditions of the originals. We are so excited for you to hear what we’ve done.”   

The band says “Ocean Avenue Acoustic – The Tour” is headed to the U.S., Europe and Australia. The European dates are part of the Vans Warped Tour and will feature just Ocean Avenue Acoustic. In The U.S. and Australia Yellowcard will perform the acoustic LP, followed by an electric set made up of tunes from its other albums.

Europe’s Vans Warped Tour is scheduled in November, with stops including England, Netherlands, Germany and Austria. As of the time of this post, the Australian dates hadn’t been announced yet.

Special edition pre-order packages of the album include a one-time-only pressing 7-inch record and hand written lyric sheets by Ryan Key.
