More Acts To Help The ‘Healing In The Heartland’

Blake Shelton has recruited more acts to take the stage Wednesday in support of tornado victims. The latest additions to the “Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert” include the country singer’s fellow “Voice” judge Usher and Darius Rucker.

The initial details about the May 29 concert were announced within days of the tornado that struck the Moore, Okla., area last week, killing 24 people. With as many as 13,000 homes destroyed or damaged, overall damage is estimated as high as $2 billion, according to the Associated Press.

“Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert” takes place at Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Over the weekend Rascal Flatts, Luke Bryan and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder were added to the lineup. Previously announced acts include Shelton’s wife, Miranda Lambert, along with Reba and Vince Gill.

Tickets sold out in less than five minutes Saturday, according to Rascal Flatt’s website. If you didn’t get tickets, you can still watch (and support the cause) from home. The telethon concert is being televised on NBC at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Plus, the show will air on cable networks Style, G4, Bravo, E! and CMT on either a live or delayed basis.

Proceeds go to the United Way of Central Oklahoma, which is working with local community partners for “immediate, intermediate and long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts” in the state.
