Rolling Stones Priced Accordingly

Pollstar has received the boxoffice reports for The Rolling Stones’ first seven shows and it should help clear the air regarding ticket prices.

When it was announced that some seats at the Los Angeles performance sold for $60, pundits speculated what it meant for the tour. Theories aside, here are the cold, hard facts:

The seven Rolling Stones shows had an average ticket price of $355.14.

The lowest average was at the Honda Center  in Anaheim, Calif., where two Stones shows averaged $307 per ticket.  The Las Vegas show, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, had the high average at $459.

The Rolling Stones still have Pollstar’s highest-grossing tour of all time, the massive “Bigger Bang” tour that spanned two years, rather than a few months, and was performed at stadiums as well as arenas.

In 2005, “Bigger Bang” had an average ticket of $133.98 and was the top tour, grossing $162 million. In 2006, the average price was $136.63 and the tour dates grossed $138.5 million.
