More Servings of Neutral Milk Hotel

Neutral Milk Hotel’s agent promised Pollstar last week that the acclaimed indie rock band would be announcing more fall shows soon. Is this week soon enough for you? The group has booked more than a dozen additional gigs in the U.S. and Australia.

The upcoming dates mark the first tour for the band since it split in 1999 after releasing 1996’s On Avery Island and 1998’s In The Aeroplane Over the Sea. Neutral Milk’s sophomore release is especially well loved with Pitchfork re-reviewing the album in 2007 with a perfect 10.0 score and Amazon.com naming In The Aeroplane as No. 2 on its list of “The 100 Greatest Indie Rock Albums Of All time.” According to Rolling Stone, In The Aeroplane was the sixth best selling vinyl album in 2008.
