The Stones Roll Up North

The Rolling Stones have slotted another “50 & Counting” gig in Canada with today’s announcement that the guys are headed to Montreal in June. Over the weekend second nights were added in Anaheim, Los Angeles, Boston and Philadelphia.

For those keeping score, the June 9 performance at Montreal’s Bell Centre, along with the additional U.S. gigs, brings the total of North American 2013 dates to 17.

In March sources told Pollstar the Stones had signed on for an 18-show arena tour planned for May and June. Where else will the guys – and their stage based on the band’s iconic tongue and lips logo – be headed? We’ll have to wait and see. After all, time is on their side. It certainly seems that way, doesn’t it? How many other band can stick together for 50 years and still manage to book gigs at 20,000+ capacity venues?
