The Rolling Stones Reveal First Stop Of 2013 Tour

When The Rolling Stones announced the initial U.S. gigs for its 2013 “50 And Counting” tour, the band promised it would play Los Angeles, but couldn’t tell fans when because of NBA/NHL playoff schedules. The date has now been set, along with a second night in London.

Like the headline says, the Stones will kick off its “50 And Counting” tour at Los Angeles’ Staples Center May 2. Today’s posting on the group’s website warns fans there is a possibility games at the sports arena might still affect the gig, saying the date is “subject to change pending NBA/NHL playoff schedule.”

After the band’s July 6 performance at London’s Hyde Park sold out within minutes of last week’s onsale, a second night at the venue has been added July 13. The gigs are part of Barclaycard presents British Summer Time.

Although much talk has been made about the ticket prices on this tour – which are priced high as $600 a ticket (before fees) – the band proudly told fans this week that “as part of the general sale, there is something for everyone, including over 1,000 tickets per show at $85 (including service charges).”

If you think all the cheap tickets are seats located far, far away from the stage, the Stones say some of the tickets “will be among the best seats in the house in the Tongue Pit, with others spread around the arena.”

The band adds that they are “using strict anti-scalper measures to ensure that these $85 tickets go to Stones fans and don’t end up on the resale market with wildly inflated prices.”

Fans will have to pick up the tickets, which are sold in pairs, with their guest. And don’t forget to bring your picture ID, confirmation number and the credit card used to make the purchase.

But first you’ll need to know the onsale information. Tickets for Los Angeles as well as previously announced shows in Anaheim, Boston and Philadelphia go on sale to the general public April 15 at 10 a.m. local time. A presale for Citi cardmembers begins April 12 at 10 a.m. local time.

A presale for the second London sale begins April 10 at 9 a.m. for Barclaycard Unwind customers, followed by the general public onsale April 12 at 9 a.m.
