Festival Noize: SXSW, Paid Dues, Crossing Brooklyn Ferry & More

Justin Timberlake’s Myspace “Secret Show” at SXSW has been confirmed, Crossing Brooklyn Ferry announces its 2013 lineup, Paid Dues festival switches venues, and Canada’s free digital music service is launching its inaugural festival in May.

Justin Timberlake’s rumored SXSW show now has an official location. The pop star, who co-owns Myspace and is promoting his upcoming third studio album, will perform at the Coppertank Events Center in downtown Austin March 16. The final Myspace Secret Show will also feature performances by DJ Wonder, The Roots’ ?uestlove and RJD2.

To get ticket information for the free event, fans must visit the Myspace Secret Show page and then RSVP by entering their name, email and plus-one. Tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Make sure to bring along your government-issued ID.

Crossing Brooklyn Ferry has booked The Roots, Solange and TV On The Radio as the headliners for its second annual festival. The event is held April 25-27 at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music.

Once again curated by The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner, the festival will feature People Get Ready, Japanther, Clare & the Reasons, Sarah Neufeld, David Longstreth and more acts, along with a film shorts program.

Paid Dues’ lineup and date are the same, but the location has changed from National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino, Calif., to San Manuel Amphitheater in Devore, Calif.

An announcement from the independent hip hop festival’s promoters says the change is “due to the recent shortage of parking spots available at the former venue.”
