Electric Forest Divulges Lineup
Set for June 27-30 at the Double JJ Ranch near Rothbury, Mich., the third annual Electric Forest will also host Benny Benassi, Yeasayer, A-Trak, Grimes, Railroad Earth, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, Madeon, Headhunterz, Baauer, Danny Brown, Greensky Bluegrass and others.
As you probably have guessed, February is a bit too early to begin announcing daily lineups. While the world anxiously awaits word for EF’s day-by-day schedule, we can tell you that The String Cheese Incident will play all three days.
Organizers also want you to know that the area dubbed “Sherwood Forest” and filled with state-of-the-art light displays has expanded in size.
The festival has new and expanded philanthropic efforts. In 2012, organizers renamed the festival’s food drive to the Roy Price Memorial Food Drive in honor of one of Electric Forest’s neighbors who was also a big supporter of the effort. Each year the festival asks its patrons to donate non-perishable food items. So far, Electric Forest has collected and distributed more than 17,200 pounds of food to local communities.
The festival is continuing its Electric Forest Music In Schools Program, which has the event partnering with local public schools Shelby High School and Montague High School and Middle School to help support music education.
Electric Forest also welcomes a new charity. The Kitchen [Community] is a national nonprofit connecting kids to “real” food by creating “learning gardens” in schools and community organizations.
But you can’t go unless you have tickets. Weekend tickets and Good Life VIP packages are available now. Visit ElectricForestFestival.com for more information.
