Tibet House Benefit: Patti Smith, Jim James & More
Philip Glass has once again signed on to offer his skills as the artistic director and curator of the Tibet House Benefit Concert. The initial lineup includes My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James and Patti Smith. The composer will also perform.
The 23rd annual benefit concert returns to New York City’s Carnegie Hall Feb. 21.
Smith will perform with Jesse Smith. So far, the roster also includes tUnE-yArDs and Rahzel. More acts will be announced soon.
In addition to supporting the Tibet House U.S., proceeds from ticket sales will also go to the Hurricane Sandy Relief Foundation and the Tibetan Community of New York & New Jersey. Tickets went on sale today.
Dedicated to preserving Tibet’s culture, the Tibet House U.S. is a non-profit educational institution and cultural embassy located at 22 West 15th Street in New York City.
