Noel Gallagher’s Good Deed

With Thanksgiving hours away, we thought it would be nice to end the workday on a happy note. Noel Gallagher has announced he’ll be helping out the Teenage Cancer Trust by rounding up the acts for the charity’s 2013 benefit concerts.

The Who’s Roger Daltrey, who has been involved with the concerts for more than a decade, told NME that the Oasis guitarist will be taking over curator duties for 2013.

“I’m not doing it next year because I’m on tour and Noel Gallagher has kindly offered to step in,” Daltrey said. “So he’s putting the bill together. Obviously I’m in the background and I’m not going away. I’ll put feelers out but he kindly offered and I accepted.”

A post on Gallagher’s website Nov. 21 confirms that he’ll be curating the Teenage Cancer Trust Benefit concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Dates have not been announced for the 2013 events.

This year’s concerts featured Daltrey, Paul McCartney, Pulp, Jessie J, Florence & The Machine and more.

The Teenage Cancer Trust helps teenage and young adults suffering from cancer through support, education, funding research, and by providing specialist teenage units in hospitals.
