Tommy Emmanuel & Martin Taylor Eye U.K. Run
Both guitarists have traveled pretty remarkable career paths. Appointed Member of the Order of Australia in 2010, Emmanuel has played with a variety of artists in different genres, including Chet Atkins, Eric Clapton, Les Paul, John Denver, and Doc Watson.
As for Taylor, his home country has dished out the love to the man often considered to be the epitome of jazz guitar. Having played with such diverse artists as Bill Wyman, George Harrison, Jeff Beck and Chet Atkins, Taylor was appointed MBE “For Services To Jazz Music” in 2002 and received the BBC Radio 2 “Heart Of Jazz” award in 2007.
Oh, and don’t forget to address him as “Doctor Taylor,” but don’t hit him up for free medical advice. The guitarst was made an honorary doctor of music by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 1999.
