Rolling Stones Say ‘Grrr!’
The Rolling Stones rumor mill shifted into overdrive last week as published reports indicated the band would perform in New York and London this fall in commemoration of the band’s 50th anniversary.
Adding to the reports was the message posted on the Stones’ Facebook page – “On Ruby Tuesday 4th September, some news is coming and we want you to be a part of it.”
True to its word, The Rolling Stones announced Grrr!, a retrospective package composed of 50 tracks with the super-deluxe upping the count .
Scheduled for a Nov. 12 world-wide release and dropping Nov. 13 in North America, Grrr! tracks the band’s history from its first single, Chuck Berry’s “Come One,” released in 1963 and includes all the songs you’d expect, including “Satisfaction,” “Brown Sugar” and “Start Me Up.”
Then there’s the new songs – “Gloom And Doom” and “One Last Shot,” recorded recently in Paris.
You’ll have plenty of choices to experience Grrr! The set will be available as a 50-track, three-CD package and a deluxe edition that includes a 36-page hardback book and five postcards.
But wait, there’s more. You can also buy Grrr! in its Super Deluxe Edition Box Set edition made up of 80 tracks on four CDs along with a seven-inch vinyl, poster and postcards in a presentation box. There will also be a Grrr! 12-inch vinyl set filled with 50 tracks enclosed in a casebound LP box.
While The Rolling Stones have yet to confirm any live dates, reports surfaced last week that the band would play two November shows at The O2 London and two December gigs at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
