Appearing on stage in St. Petersburg, Madonna criticized local laws that call for fines for anyone spreading homosexual “propaganda,” according to Reuters.

Now 10 anti-gay activists have filed suit against the Material Girl, saying she should behave in accordance to local laws when visiting their country.

“She (Madonna) had been warned with words that she should behave in line with the law and she ignored it,” Darya Dedova, one of the activists pressing the lawsuit, said. “So we will speak in the language of money.”

If the Russian group is victorious in court, Dedova said they would donate the money to an orphanage.

Evidently the group feels Madonna’s comments could lead to the destruction of Russia as we know it. At least, that was the opinion of Alexei Kolotkov, one of the activists involved in the lawsuit.

“Maybe someone does not see the link but after Madonna’s concert maybe some boy becomes gay, some girl becomes lesbian, fewer children are born as a result and this big country cannot defend its borders – for me it causes moral suffering,” Kolotkov said.
