Changes: moe., Florence & The Machine

Fans holding tickets to see moe. this month may have to wait a while. Drummer Vinnie Amico has been under the weather, resulting in percussionist Jim Loughlin filling in. Right now the band plans to play their scheduled engagement at the “Great South Bay Music Festival” in Patchogue, N.Y., July 14 then take a break, resuming July 31 in Wilmington, N.C.

“We would like to thank all our fans and all the promoters for their understanding and support. And a heartfelt thank you for all the best wishes to Vin. A few of the shows will be made up on the fall tour. We will update those once they are re-scheduled. At this time, refunds will be made for the 11 canceled shows at the point of purchase.”

Cities affected are Cleveland, Omaha, Beaver Creek, Colo., Denver, Santa Fe, Kansas City, Tulsa, Fayetteville, Ark., Birmingham, Ala, and Saint Petersburg, Fla.

The band has already rescheduled its Denver shows. Originally scheduled to play the Ogden Theatre July 20-21, moe. has shifted the gigs to Nov. 30-Dec. 1.

Florence & The Machine will be out of action this weekend. The band was scheduled to play Spain’s Benicassim Festival tonight and Optimus Alive in Lisbon, Portugal, Saturday.

“I’ve sustained a vocal injury and been told I cannot sing for a week … seriously I felt something snap, it was very frightening. Unfortunately this means I will not be able to perform at Benicassim and Optimus Alive festival this weekend … I am so sorry. I’m so sorry to all the fans, I was desperate to still perform, but was told without question not to, so as not to do permanent damage.

Florence & The Machine’s next scheduled gig is Burnaby, British Columbia at Deer Lake Park July 20.
