The Stones launched their stage career at the Marquee on July 12, 1962, the same year Andy Warhol debuted his Campbell’s Soup Cans exhibit in Los Angeles, a young Amazing Spider-Man first appeared in Marvel Comics, and the Cuban Missile Crisis scared the daylights out of Americans and Russians alike.
The Rolling Stones are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their debut with the release of the official “Rolling Stones 50” published by Thames & Hudson and packed with photos, reportage, outtakes and more. Hyperion will release “Rolling Stones 50” in the U.S.
