Slash Announces Fall Headline Tour
Slash is working with Guitar Center to offer 20 unsigned bands the chance to open for the rocker on his newly announced fall excursion, which begins in September. The former Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist is hand-selecting the acts, which will take the stage at the cities closest to their hometowns. The 20 bands will be revealed in August.
At the end of the tour, Slash will choose one of the acts as the grand prize winner of Guitar Center On-Stage. The lucky band will win $10,000 in guitars from Gibson and Epiphone, in addition to receiving a $5,000 shopping spree at Guitar Center. The other acts will get a tour support prize pack including gear from Ernie Ball, Zoom, Dunlop, Monster Cable, Pro-Mark and Converse.
“I’m a strong believer that the best way to get your music heard is to get out there and play shows,” Slash said. “There are tons of talented bands that simply don’t have the resources to go on tour, so I’m glad to be able to host them on my tour and at the same time introduce my fans to great, undiscovered artists.”
Slash, along with his band Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, are touring in support of his second solo studio album, Apocalyptic Love. Released May 22, all of the songs were written by Slash and Kennedy.
