Minding The Tailgate At Cruzan
The rules changed two days before a May 12 Lady Antebellum concert.
“It wasn’t the fun atmosphere that it normally is,” a fan told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “It used to be the best place for tailgating. That’s one reason why people go to concerts there.”
Cruzan Amphitheatre officials told the paper that changes were enacted “to create a more enjoyable experience for all involved.” Cruzan is a rum producer.
Other changes include less controversial rules such as prohibiting single cars from taking up multiple parking spaces, as well as picnic furniture spilling into traffic rows. Tailgating is to shut down 30 minutes after gates are open.
It’s not the first time tailgating rules have caused a kerfuffle among fans. Jiffy Lube Live Amphitheatre near Washington, D.C., announced in January it would reinstate tailgating after a yearlong total ban.
