Demi Lovato sure picked a good time to announce her return to the touring superhighway. Her single, “Skyscraper,” from her latest album, Unbroken, was recently certified platinum. Lovato’s latest single, “Give Your Heart A Break,” has been downloaded 200,000 times and the video has received more than 10 million views on YouTube.

Lovato has also been in the news for detailing her drug and alcohol problems as well as periods of self-harm where she would cut herself. Appearing on the MTV special “Demi Lovato: Stay Strong,” the artist talked about her recovery as well as her hopes for the future.

Lovato also did a very candid interview with Fabulous magazine, and while she didn’t exactly specify which drugs helped cause her downward spiral, she did tell the United Kingdom publication about trying to maintain the natural high she received from performing.

“What I can say is that I was depressed,” Lovato told Fabulous. “I would come off stage in front of 18,000 people and suddenly be alone in a hotel room. I’d come crashing down and would try to find a way to recreate that felling, to stay ‘up.’”

Now with the future looking very bright for Lovato, her upcoming tour launches in Del Mar, Calif., at the Del Mar Fairgrounds June 12 and wraps in Salem, Ore., at the Oregon State Fair Pavilion Sept. 1. Stops in between include Holmdel, N.J., at the PNC Bank Arts Center June 22; Saratoga Springs, N.Y., at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center June 26; Boston’s Bank Of America Pavilion July 5; and Los Angeles at the Greek Theatre July 18.

Special guests Hot Chelle Rae and Owl City appear on select dates.

While Lovato’s Del Mar show is already on sale, some dates, including Boston and Saratoga Springs go up the first week of May. Visit DemiLovato.com for more information.
