Odds & Ends: Justin Bieber, Courtney Love, Sarah McLachlan & Catfish Alley

Surprise, surprise. Courtney Love is ticked off again and is telling Twitter all about it. The Hole singer is accusing Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl of acting inappropriately with her 19-year-old daughter Frances Bean Cobain.

“I hear from frannies roommate that @davegrohl hit on frances, and that she was curious,” Love tweeted, according to Gawker.com, which took screenshots of Love’s private Twitter feed. “I’m not mad at her, him I am about to shoot, dead.”

She added that a driver had told her Grohl had “his hands all over her.” Love defended her daughter, saying it wasn’t her fault because “she’s not slutty in any way, at all.” Love went on to say that Grohl is “sexually obsessed” with her late husband/Grohl’s former bandmate Kurt Cobain.

Grohl responded with the following statement: “Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue.”

His publicist told Gawker he wished Gawker’s headline on the story could be changed to “Crazy Woman Says Insane Shit No One In Their Right Mind Would Believe.”

Sarah & The Seals

Sarah McLachlan is lending her support to the seals. She has reached out to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper with a letter dated April 6 urging him to help stop commercial seal hunting.

The letter, which was written on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), accused the government of continuing to hunt seals for political reasons, according to the Toronto Star.

“It seems that the only reason why the federal government defends the dying seal-slaughter industry is to control the parliamentary swing seats in Newfoundland and Labrador,” the Canadian singer-songwriter and animal lover wrote.

“The sealers – like tobacco farmers and asbestos miners – need leaders to devise a practical exit strategy for them, not waste millions more in hopeless World Trade Organization challenges or paying to stockpile pelts when buyers already have seal pets going back several years. Won’t you lead the way?”

PETA is encouraging supporters to tweet their own messages to the prime minister about seal hunting.
