Justin Bieber: Don’t Call Us We’ll Call You
The Beebs teased fans with the March 7 tweet, writing “call me right now” followed by the incomplete phone number, according to the CBS affiliate in Dallas-Forth Worth. Various combinations of the phone number led fans to Fleming and Kent. The two Texans don’t think Beeb’s tweet, which has since been deleted, was particularly funny.
Kent, who has declined to give his last name, says young girls are still trying to get in touch with Bieber.
“Recently, I’m even getting calls from India. They want Justin Bieber to come to India,” he told CBSDFW.com.
Sample voicemails include messages such as: “Justin. I love you. Justin Be-Be-Be-Bieber. Love you!”
Kent’s attorney, Emily Horton, says she hasn’t been able to get a “substantive response” from Bieber’s reps and that a lawsuit hasn’t been ruled out.
Horton wants Bieber’s camp to acknowledge the prank and help stop all of the phone calls, according to CBSDFW.com. Kent would also like the pop star to use his Twitter account for some good by tweeting a shout out about his start-up online media portal. He isn’t interested in changing the number because he’s had it for over 20 years and uses it for both business and personal calls.
Dilcie Fleming, who says she also doesn’t want to change her landline because she’s had the number since 1966, is keeping it real with Bieber’s adoring fangirls.
“You kind of get upset and frustrated, you know,” she told ABC News. “It’s just a constant thing. I feel so sorry for these young girls. I may have been out of line but I told one of them girls I talked to, ‘He doesn’t care about you. You’re just making money for him.’”
Fleming has stopped getting as many calls now that she’s changed her voice mail greeting to say, “This is NOT Justin Bieber’s phone number. Please do NOT call again,” according to CBS News.
She says she doesn’t want to file a lawsuit. What she would like is a letter of apology and some concert tickets for her great-granddaughter.
“I’ve got a great-granddaughter … she’s in love with him,” Fleming told CBS News.
Bieber stars as a guest host on the new season of “Punk’d” tonight on MTV featuring the pop star playing tricks on Taylor Swift and Rob Dyrdek.
