Rolling Stones Announce Documentary
Directed by Brett Morgen and promising unseen footage, the yet to be titled documentary is being described as the first film “to trace the evolution of The Rolling Stones from 1962.”
“For anyone who wants to experience the band, this is the film that will defy convention and create a sonic tapestry to transport viewers into the world of The Rolling Stones,” Morgen said. “The film will deliver the original, bold, sexy and dangerous flavor of the iconic rock band.”
Evidently, the film promises to bare all. Or, as the description on The Rolling Stones website says, “50 years of sex, drugs, and rock and roll.”
The announcement of the film comes one day after Rolling Stone magazine reported that the band probably wouldn’t tour this year in celebration of hitting the big 5.0. Citing separate interviews with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards as well as those good ol’ insider sources, the magazine said health issues was one of the reasons The Rolling Stones won’t be on the road this year and that the band might tour next year. The same article suggested The Stones might play multiple nights in major markets in place of extensive touring.
