The Parlotones will have some new music to share with fans. The band’s upcoming album – Journey Through The Shadows – drops May 8 on Sovereign Entertainment U.S.A. You can preview a track from the album – “Save Your Best Bits” – via SoundCloud. Just click here.

The Parlotones is one of those bands that does monstrous biz in their home country but is still trying to achieve that same level of greatness in the U.S. A heavy-duty touring machine, the band held its “Dragonflies and Astronauts” event in South Africa at Johannesburg’s Teatro At Montecasino last June, dazzling fans with its mixture of technology, music and a theatrical performance. “Dragonflies and Astronauts” aired as a 3D extravaganza on DirectTV more than 80 times last August and September.

Aside from touring, band members will join celebrities, politicians, civilians and members of the media from 54 African countries for a climbing assault on Mount Kilimanjaro. The expedition is intended to aid Africa-Unite’s campaign to raise awareness to end violence against Africa’s women and children.

Appearing at SXSW May 12-16, the actual cross-country trip begins at West Hollywood’s The Roxy May 17. Stops on this coast-to-coast-to-coast journey include Houston at Fitzgerald’s May 23; Washington, D.C., at DC9 May 29; New York City’s Highline Ballroom June 1; Chicago at Schuba’s June 8; Denver’s Larimer Lounge June 12 and San Francisco at the Independent June 20.

The band has come up with a new way for fans to stay in touch. The Parlotones Passport enables fans to earn points for attending shows, buying merch on the group’s online store, supporting certain charities and even tweeting about the group. Fans can spend their points on tickets, merchandise and more.
