Lamb Of God’s Really Long Tour

The heavy metal band hailing from Richmond, Va., has plenty of roadwork in its future. Today Lamb Of God announced the first details of its “Resolution World Tour” that is expected to keep the group busy for the next two years.

A six-date club run begins with a performance in the band’s hometown at Richmond’s The National Jan. 22 followed by stops at New York City’s Irving Plaza Jan. 24; Boston’s Paradise Rock Club Jan. 25; Philadelphia at the Trocadero Jan. 26; Toronto’s Phoenix Concert Hall Jan. 27; and Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club Jan. 28. In-store events will occur in four of the six cities. Expect in-store details to be announced in January. The Acacia Strain and Too Late The Hero appear Jan. 24-28.

The band also revealed dates and cities but no venues for an international run beginning Feb. 12 in Seoul, South Korea, and extending to March 7 in Auckland, New Zealand. Stops along the way will include Shanghai, China (Feb. 14); Taipei, Taiwan (Feb. 16); Manila, Philippines (Feb. 18); Singapore (Feb. 20); Tokyo (Feb. 22) and Osaka (Feb. 23).

Returning from Japan, Lamb Of God will play its first ever show in Alaska when the band touches down in Anchorage March 9. Like the international dates, a venue for Anchorage has yet to be announced.

VNV Nation Tweaks Touring Schedule

Visa problems have forced the Brit/Irish electronic band known as VNV Nation to shuffle a couple of dates during the first week of its North American tour.

The tour was scheduled to begin Wednesday night in Los Angeles at the Mayan Theatre. However, hassles with the paperwork have resulted in the band postponing its first two dates until March.

Blaming an “unforeseen delay in the visa process,” the band issued a statement saying members could not get their work permits until Friday.

But fortunately for the band and its fans, only two dates had to be moved. Along with the L.A. show moved to March 16, the tour’s second night – Nov. 19 in Phoenix, Ariz., at the Nile Theatre – has been moved to March 17.

VNV Nation will now launch its tour in San Diego at House Of Blues Friday night.

Cody For Christmas

Mega toy-retailer Toys “R” Us says now is the time to order your Cody Simpson doll if you want it by Christmas.

There are two different dolls from which to choose, with each figure measuring 11.5 inches of pure Aussie pop artist ‘tude with one doll featuring a Gold Coast Tee and khakis while the other figure is decked out with a pair of shoes, sunglasses, microphone, guitar pick and lanyard. Both dolls feature Simpson’s signature side-swept surfer-do.

“I’m really excited for the release of my doll at Toys ‘R’ Us this holiday season,” Simpson said in a statement. “When things like this start to happen for an artist, you know that your career is moving in the right direction. I’m truly thankful for all of my fans. Without them, opportunities like this do not exist.”
