More Acts Announced For Lennon’s 75th Birthday Concert
The event celebrating the beloved Beatle is scheduled Dec. 5 at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will take part in the concert by making special video appearances. Today’s announcement also adds Kevin Bacon as the special guest host and gives us the run-down of the house band.
The band features Greg Phillinganes on keyboards, Kenny Aronoff on drums, Lee Sklar on bass, Felicia Collins and Sid McGinnis on guitars, Boh Cooper on keyboard, and Taku Hirano on percussion. Jory Steinberg and Trya Juliette will provide backing vocals.
Phillinganes is also serving as the show’s music director along with Don Was. Gregg Gelfand is the director.
The previously announced lineup is made up of Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, The Roots, Willie Nelson, Juanes, Tom Morello, Aloe Blacc, Kris Kristofferson, Train’s Pat Monahan, and Chris Stapleton. Believe it or not, more artists are yet to be announced.
The show is brought to you by Blackbird Presents in partnership with AMC.
