Ed Sheeran To Play ARIA Awards
He is up for the best international artist category. “I’ve never been to the ARIAs,” he stated. “I’ve wanted to go every single year, so this is quite exciting.”
He joins Australian acts Vance Joy, The Veronicas, Tina Arena, Peking Duk, Jessica Mauboy, Conrad Sewell, Flight Facilities, Hermitude, Jarryd James and Nathaniel.
The awards are telecast on live-to-air Network Ten. Sheeran’s appearance will be two days before he begins a solo six-date stadium run through Dec. 12 via Frontier Touring. It is his second visit this year and his fifth in four years.
His March-April 2015 tour sold 190,000 tickets, Frontier said. He has been Australia’s top-selling act for 2014 and 2015. In the week ending Nov. 7, his single “Photograph” picked up its second platinum while Rudimental’s “Lay It All On Me,” on which he features, went gold.
