Welborn Joins UTA
Drew Welborn has joined United Talent Agency as a comedy agent. Welborn arrives at UTA from WME, where he was an agent focusing on comedy and digital talent.
He will be based out of the New York office. In his new gig, Welborn will represent established and emerging comedy acts for touring, as well as in film, TV, digital media and other areas.
His client roster at WME included Pete Holmes, Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Cristela Alonzo and several others.
A spokeswoman from UTA could not confirm if any of them will make the move with Welborn, who joins a comedy division that has greatly expanded in 2015 under the wing of Nick Nuciforo.
“Drew knows comedy, and he will be a great asset as we grow our comedy practice,” Nuciforo said. “We’re thrilled he’s joining us.”
