Trouble In Toronto
Seattle-based EDM website YourEDM.com reports that security turned away many ticketholders to the GA section because it was “at capacity,” suggesting it was oversold.
Some were reportedly offered seats in the stands or in the wheelchair-accessible section “only if [Zedd’s] management team allowed it.”
One fan reportedly contacted Zedd via Twitter inquiring about the wheelchair-accessible spots. Others used social media to demand refunds and otherwise complained to Embrace Presents, the concert promoter.
Zedd apologized for the incident, again via Twitter, before taking the stage. Embrace also apologized via Facebook, saying “floor tickets were subject to capacity.”
The previous Saturday, Embrace came under fire for an incident during a Disclosure show at
Cell phone video from the venue showed a melee of upset fans overrunning barriers to the coat check area. “We are sorry for any inconvenience that some of our patrons experienced,” Embrace events amanger Jacqueline Wilson told the Toronto Star in a statement. “We are working closely with the coat check provider to resolve this situation.” Embrace did not respond to a request for comment from Pollstar.
