Australian Acts Come Together For Thirsty Merc
On the band’s way to a show in regional Victoria, production manager Shane Cooper died and drummer Mick Skelton was hospitalised with severe injuries. Among acts taking to the stage at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre Nov. 23 are Jimmy Barnes teaming with blues guitarist Diesel, Hoodoo Gurus, Dragon, Baby Animals, Wendy Matthews, Cold Chisel guitarist Ian Moss, Alex Smith of Moving Pictures, 1927, The Superjesus, Noiseworks, singer-songwriters Wendy Matthews and Russell Morris, and The Tea Party’s Jeff Martin.
Show promoter Marc Christowski from Empire Touring, said, “Shane Cooper was an integral part of my organisation and Mick Skelton is my go-to drummer. It’s not often this sort of tragedy strikes and I’m proud to say that we have been inundated with artists and crew offering their services to produce this extraordinary benefit concert.”
